Lawn Care Labourer Summer Student

Criteria for the job:    Must be returning to school in the Fall of 2024 and be under 30 years old

Must have a valid driver’s license, auto insurance and your own transportation to Big Island in Prince Edward County

 Safety boots are required for this position.  All other personal protective equipment will be supplied

Duration of employment: starting as soon as possible – 8 weeks +

Rate of pay is $17.50/hour for 35 hours per week

 

The Sexual Assault Centre Quinte & District has one student opening at our Paths of Courage Healing & Retreat Centre in Prince Edward County.  At this location we run one-week Residential Programs for survivors of sexual assault. This position will be up to 12 weeks in length, working day shift Monday to Friday each week.  This position would be ideal for an outdoor enthusiast and/or a recreation student.   Job duties will include all aspects of maintaining the current trail and property grounds, cutting grass and maintaining flower gardens and any building maintenance as required (ie. painting).  As well, you would be assisting with our Kayaking workshop once per month and the Challenge Course as required.  Applicants must be able to work independently and as part of a team.  

-Current valid Police Check is required

-Ability to prioritize daily and weekly assignments

-Proven self-starter, attention to detail and pride in your work

-Enjoy working outdoors

-Experience running lawn equipment (riding and push lawnmowers, weed eater etc.)

-Previous related experience would be an asset

-Belay certification would be an asset

-Lifeguard certification would be an asset
