Wage: $27.23 per hour

Position Summary
Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley is actively involved in the Ottawa Valley to provide adults living with an intellectual disability with the support needed to live their fullest and most extraordinary lives. We are currently hiring for Part-Time, Casual and Student positions. Shifts are on a rotating schedule that includes weekends. Shifts vary in length up to 12 hours in duration all positions include days and evenings, and alternate weekends, and holidays, or overnight for Night positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote independence, inclusion, and personal growth for individuals supported
- Provide personal care, including bathing, feeding, oral and personal hygiene
- Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and behavioural support plans (BSPs)
- Document daily activities and updates using AIMS software
- Administer medication and perform controlled medical acts (training provided)
- Apply Non-Violent Crisis Intervention techniques (training provided)
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external professionals
- Maintain a respectful and professional presence in individuals’ homes
- Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and driving
Qualifications
- Candidates will possess at least 1 year of post-secondary education in a Human services or Health Science role (DSW, ECE, SSW, mental health and addictions, psychology, etc.)
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varying abilities.
- Experience in caregiving or working with persons with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medication administration practices, or willing to learn.
- A valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of vehicle insurance
- Current certifications in First Aid and CPR
- Current vulnerable sector screening
Wage: $23.47-$27.23 per hour
