Position:          Line Cook

Employer:       Sun Run Café and Bakery

Pay:                 $21.00-$24.00 per hour

Job Summary:

Now hiring first cook or line cook position. Previous restaurant experience is mandatory for this position. The ideal candidate will be able to learn all positions in the kitchen and will be responsible for closing the kitchen with limited supervision. Skilled candidates will have creative freedom to design features in a made from scratch kitchen. Wage will depend on skill level and tips are shared with all employees. Anticipated start date is early May. This is a permanent position offering a mix of part time and full time hours depending on the season.

Duties may include the following:

• Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive dining experience for all guests.
• Assist in food preparation and presentation while adhering to food safety guidelines.
• Operate cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately for transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including dining spaces, dish pit and kitchens.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.

Skills:

• Adaptability to work different positions within a small restaurant.
• Strong hospitality skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and making change.
• Proficiency in operating POS systems and cash registers.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and language skills and a friendly demeanor when interacting with customers and team members.
