A high degree of accuracy is mandatory. Strong organizational, problem-solving and time

management skills are necessary to succeed as a Pharmacy Technician. This work is

demanding. It requires the ability to work with minimal supervision, employing critical thinking

and attention to detail in a fast-paced chaotic environment. Strict confidentiality and ethical

standards are demanded along with personal professional liability insurance. Experience with

Propel software is an asset. Include your OCP member registration number with your

Job duties under the direction of the Pharmacist:

  • Prioritize time and duties without stress on the environment.
  • Politely answer telephones and greet in-store clients.
  • Courteously interact with medical professionals and adjudicate with third parties using
  • pleasant verbal and written communication skills.
  • Patiently deal with clients on a one-to-one basis, directing them to items or the
  • pharmacist for medication consultation.
  • Precisely receive, enter and retrieve prescriptions/profiles on the computer system.
  • Proficiently complete documentation, scan, sort and file as per policies and procedures.
  • Accurately measure, mix, dispense, package, label, and bag prescriptions.
  • Independently perform final inspection of packaged medications (including blister
  • packaging).
  • Offer guidance, education and technical information to coworkers in a respectful and
  • tactful manner.
  • Promptly restock medications and related supplies as needed.
  • Participate in cycle counting
  • Routinely identify expired products for disposal, destruction, or return to manufacturer.
  • Meticulously clean and sterilize dispensing instruments.
  • Efficiently operate a cash software system, process payments or charge third parties or
  • individuals on account.
  • Monitor and record refrigerator temperature as per regulations.
  • Readily respond to any other tasks as directed from time to time.
  • Routinely wipe down shelves, dust product and light cleaning in compliance with
  • company policy

  • Current Valid Ontario Professional License & Insurance
  • WHMIS certificate
  • Vulnerable Sector Check
