Wage:
$17.60 / hour to start, increase upon successful completion of 3-month probation period.
Description:
We are in the metal recycling industry and just expanded our yard with a new shredder machine to scrap the metals. We are hiring several general laborers to maintain the daily operation of the yard.
Responsibilities:

Clean-up worksites from debris and machinery, shovel rubble throughout the day periodically

Sort the scrap materials according to the specifications (will provide training accordingly)

Assist in building scaffolding and temporary structures
-
Safely operate a variety of tools including pressure washers, jackhammers, drills, saws, grinders, and blow torch

Handling and transporting materials and equipment
-
Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions
-
Follow project instructions from operation manager or supervisor to conduct the task assigned
Requirements:
-
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc.

Good hand-eye coordination
-
Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus

Communication and teamwork skills and can also work independently

Commitment to safety rules
-
Apprenticeship or specialization is an asset, but not necessary
-
must have personal safety PPE, hard hat, work boots.

Able to work in all type of weather conditions, including rain, heat and snow.
