Position:                           Machinist

Universal Seal Inc. is a professional manufacturer & exporter of polyurethane hydraulic seals. Our experienced and technical personnel can develop and produce superior custom molded seals for most hydraulic fluid sealing applications. Be part of a vibrant machine shop crew. Full-time or part-time available

4-day work week (Mon -Thurs 10hours a day).

• Produce custom molds, maintain, repair, and align industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in the factory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret mold drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Assemble, erect, install, and test machinery and heavy equipment (conveyors, pumps, turbines, presses, packaging machines).
• Precisely align shafts, bearings, gearboxes, and drive systems using precision instruments (dial indicators, laser alignment tools, levels).
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment for repair or relocation.
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical failures, and replace worn parts (bearings, seals, couplings).
• Fabricate or modify components (welding, cutting, machining) and fit parts to tolerances.
• Follow safety procedures and adhere to regulatory and company standards.

Typical Skills and Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and physical fitness.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and basic machine shop equipment.
• Welding and fabrication skills.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and use alignment/calibration tools.
• Problem-solving, troubleshooting, and basic electrical/pneumatics/hydraulics knowledge.
• Willingness to work at heights and confined spaces.
• Certifications often preferred: safety training.
• Pay Scale: Starts at $25/hour depending on experience.
• 4-day work week Monday to Thursday 10 hours per day for a 40-hour work week.
