RECE Educator Position – Casual, Part-time, or Full-time
Established in 2006, Little Rascals Child Care (LRCC) is licensed by the Ministry of Education for 105 children. The centre is located in a large building with access to a natural setting behind the building and a full sized gymnasium for those inclement days of freezing temperatures, rain or oppressive heat. Our location provides on site parking and there is bus service near by if you require transportation.
Little Rascals strongly believes in supporting and creating a pleasant work environment by mentoring and supporting their employees, so they have a successful day each and every day. Work Schedules are provided weekly and we work with our employees if flexibility of hours is required.
The treatment of our staff is of the most importance to Little Rascals. LRCC offer’s wages from $20 to $25.86 per hour, Group Benefit coverage and an Employee Assistance Program. Little Rascals has monthly staff luncheons, treat days and team events. LRCC provides t-shirts and sweat shirts to identify the educators of the program rooms and team unity.
You will work with your team members in large beautiful rooms with large windows offering lots of natural light. The rooms are equipped with Jade air purifiers, air conditioning, heating systems, security equipment and room to room intercom system.
We provide all the tools you require as a RECE Educator to assist you with programming, play-based learning such as Digibot, tablets, toys, books, out door equipment and an indoor full-size gym etc.
Required Qualifications:
Early Childhood Education (ECE) Diploma and registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE) or equivalent; Child and Youth Worker (CYW), Developmental Services Worker (DSW) or Social Service Worker (SSW) with early years child related experience.
Up to date Standard First Aid training and CPR (including Infant/Child).
Clear Criminal Reference Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Up-to-date immunization as required by the Medical Officer of Health.
Job Skills and Characteristics:
Experience working with children from Infant (1 month) to School aged (12 years)
Experience using Play-Based Learning
Experience with How Does Learning Happen, an asset
Ability to work as part of a team or individually
Working knowledge of child development principles
Effective communication both verbally and written
Effective problem solving and conflict resolution skill
Patient, Understanding, and Empathetic
Assist in implementing program activities using Play-Based Learning that are appropriate for specific age groups and individual children.
Maintain effective supervision while actively engaging in children’s learning and play
Develop open/honest professional relationships with families and co-educators; communicating daily and positively regarding children’s skills, development, behaviours and interests
