Salary:

$16.00/hour to start, depending on experience. Increase upon completion of probation period

Responsibilities:

Develop relationships in the greater community of the thrift store

Recruit a sustainable volunteer base for the local Mission Thrift Store (approximately 100 or more active Volunteers)

Liaise with community organizations where there may be opportunities to benefit, for example, mutually: Chamber of Commerce / Economic Development Organization / Welcome Wagon / Service Clubs /Community Services / Homeless Shelters / Organizations that support challenged individuals / Other Community support organizations

Develop a marketing and communications plan with the Volunteer Champion and Store Manager to promote volunteering for the Mission Thrift Store

Speak to various groups, together with the Volunteer Champion, Store Manager, and Board Members

Ensure local Mission Thrift Store landing page is updated with information relating to community relations

Promote the Promissory Note program of BFM Foundation Real Estate Management (2008) Ltd working with the Director of Fund Development

Promote Mission Thrift Store and the Joint Ministry of BFM Foundation (Canada) and Bible League Canada

Organize and assist in any event/sale for the Mission Thrift Store

Assist in other capacities when requested

Prepare and present community presentations, as required

Requirements:

Experience in community relations and relationship building

Ability to build relationships and work with volunteers, staff, and community members

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to communicate in a friendly and informative manner with people from a wide variety of

cultural and ethnic backgrounds and lifestyles

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
